What is a Lightworker? How do you become one? | By ALM (Maya)

Lightworkers
One of the most common questions I receive from new and prospective students, is how do they become a Lightworker? Often you may feel that you have a spiritual mission to fulfil and are unsure where to begin or exactly how to go about it.  Sometimes there is even some conflict within you as to whether it’s something you have time for or would be able to do at all.
There is a lot of information out there that can support you if you are looking for it.  However, even with all that information, the journey is one that is essentially an internal one that decide to take you take. Later you will find you naturally find ways of expressing this internal change in other ways, but the journey begins usually with a feeling…and then with a decision.
A Lightworker is someone who has a ‘calling’ to serve humanity in some way.  Some believe true Lightworkers are enlightened or spiritually advanced beings that have chosen their current incarnation in order that they may assist in some way, the spiritual evolution of humanity as a whole. My own experience leads me to consider that this calling is within all of us – perhaps louder for some than others – and perhaps some trust that calling more than others.  But I feel it is within every person to assist humanity in achieving our collective potential in however big or small a way they can, by following that calling.
There are no end of ways you might go about this.  And many techniques you may work with to assist you in developing the skills and awareness that will help you fulfil your goals.  Energy Healing and meditation are those that I teach (backed up by my experience, and personal studies).  I do also provide ritual empowerments and initiation options.  And I do quite a lot of writing!  These are the areas I am best skilled in.  But not all Lightworkers teach.  Some may become healers, writers, counsellors, motivational speakers, artists or psychics.  And others may develop their skills to assist friends and family – perhaps providing healing or inspiring others by example.
The real fact about Lightworkers is that it’s something we all aspire to on some level whether we choose to become proactive in that aspiration or not.  There is no restriction to the way you express your ‘vocation’ as a Lightworker. There are no restrictions based on philosophies, religions, qualifications, practices, personal skills and talents.
I have always aimed through my work to inspire and encourage people in achieving their spiritual potential; and to make that journey as accessible as possible while encouraging people in such a way that I consider, what I teach is almost secondary to what I pass on to those I work with.  My focus is always on empowerment of the individual.  So above and beyond any details, I consider that fundamental to Lightwork is the very idea that every individual has a part to play; the concept that we are all part of something bigger and united by certain spiritual aspects.  We don’t need to know what that ‘something bigger’ is or what part we are playing in the grander scheme of things to begin the journey.  We just need an open mind, and the confidence to take the first step.
Try not to compare yourself to others or to discourage yourself because you think your contribution won’t count.  It will.  It always does! All Lightworkers are different. You won’t need to suddenly go vegan, meditate for an hour a day or become a hippie to validate you ‘spiritual credibility’!
On some level you already possess the ‘wholeness’ of your potential. What we think of as spiritual growth that allows us to evolve as Lightworkers, is actually the process of letting go of the restrictive and divisive beliefs we may have held.  Letting go of habits or addictions (which may be patterns of behaviour rather than addictions to substances), that get in the way of our being truly free to be ourselves.  It’s a process of remembering who you are and becoming who you are meant to be.
Lightworkers have one intention that unites them; their conscious decision to respond to that inner calling; to express their truth (in all aspects of their life) in accordance with “The Power That Moves the Universe”.  Some may call this ‘Divine Intelligence’, 'Universal Light', ‘God’ or ‘Nature’.  The name is not important, but our relationship to that common Source is what defines us as Lightworkers.
In her book, The Lightworker’s Way, Dr Doreen Virtue details her own spiritual journey. She explains the awakening her healing and clairvoyance as well as her understanding of them. She writes, “This is a book about my own journey of remembering my identity and abilities as a Lightworker. Its purpose is to help you recall your own divine mission and your natural spiritual skills.”
If you feel moved to make a difference…even if you’re not sure how you’ll do it, whether you can do it, where to begin or whether you’re good enough…you are already on the path to remembering yourself & realising your potential as Lightworker.

Anonymous | Hacktivism & Peaceful Protest

Anonymous & the power of basing your demonstration on an ideal...fighting for that ideal achieve more than fire fighting against.

I truly believe that peaceful protest is the way forward; uniting people and standing up for what you believe in.

It's heart lifting to realise there are so many people in the world that care. Those that don't are a tiny minority. But that doesn't mean much...revolutions happen x

Lana Del Rey Honeymoon - first impressions x

I'm sure I wasn't the only one waiting for my #LDR #Honeymoon to download last night! It was worth waiting for. The early release tracks gave a bit of an idea of vibe but I wasn't sure if I would like it. I was so blown away by the dark turn when #Ultraviolence came out.

But...I love #Honeymoon! After a few listens I am already picking favourites and there isn't a track I don't like or think I would skip over. I think #HighByTheBeach is my favourite. So far. But love #GodKnowsITried too.

"God knows I live
God knows I died
God knows I begged
Begged, borrowed and cried
God knows I loved
God know I lied
God knows I lost
God gave me life
And God knows I tried"

Does Hell Exist? (Channelling Erik)

https://youtu.be/1n66FrqOy2w

Very thought provoking session from #channelingerik - if you wondered about how concepts of #hell and the #devil, #lucifer and #evil fit into a multidimensional understanding of reality. Especially for people who are considering this idea from an 'eternal perspective' or within a religious/philosophical that seems to contradict itself!

Inspirational as always and highly recommended!

Birthdays | Death Days | Fun Days | Tattoo Days

14th September 2015 (Yay! It's my birthday!) - Sorry for the radio silence!  I've taken a few days off -I'm very lucky my work allows flexibility - normal scheduling has been resumed and all administration stuff is up to date...so things are kind of back to normal...and it's my birthday!  So I'll be getting to bed early in moment, so that my mum and sister can take me to lunch tomorrow at a reasonable hour!...

I'm sad to say, my dad passed away earlier this month.  The chemo and radiotherapy did slow the tumour's development to an extent but unfortunately, it was growing so quickly that after he finished the treatment, he was having symptoms that could have either been from the chemo or from the tumour.  And by the time the scan result came back, we already knew what the situation was.  But it had continued to develop.  He did have a wonderful death (if such a thing is possible); we were all with him throughout.  And ultimately he got sleepier and sleepier, went into a coma and then died peacefully.  As he was making the transition we all had the opportunity to spend time with him - talking, praying, singing and telling him what we were doing and stuff. His consciousness came and went more and more towards the end but they were very precious times.  If it's possible to conceive, he did have a beautiful death.  At home, with his family and 'naturally' with just a bit of morphine as he had a headache towards the end.  Though I think it was from dehydration (which is usually a natural part of someone 'fading out' - they naturally lose their appetite and thirst as the end is coming close so they can have some cramps and things from that;morphine takes care of it and ensures they're comfortable - though possibly a bit high!).  We had discussed the options as a family and we all agreed 'home hospice' was something we would not only be able to cope with but would consider the best option and that we would want to be there taking care of dad to the end.

I have to say, even with a terminal cancer, you actually have no idea of when the person will die or exactly what the mechanism of death will be.  You know it will kill them but you don't know how or when.  Which isn't unlike life for the rest of us...we all know we will die but we don't know when or how!  Somehow, it's not something people talk about or consider much.  You have to deal with it if someone you are close to is dying - are you going to 'man up' and face their mortality and your own by taking the journey with them?  I think with the support of friends and family, and the person who is dying of course, the experience can be something truly sacred.  I'm so pleased things went the way they did. It happened more quickly than we had expected...but dad wasn't incapacitated until perhaps a week or so before he died.  He was gradually getting weaker - but I'm glad there wasn't a situation like if he'd had a massive seizure and had to be put into hospital and then into a hospice etc.

So it's a sad...but in a way, we're all kind of on a high and celebrating his life and also the journey we took with him through the diagnosis, treatment and finally his death. I love him so much.  I can't wait to see him again!  I think the first thing my dad will say when I meet him again is, "you were singing 'Substitute' out of key" - I was singing along to his music and we both love The Who!

My sister and I got matching tattoos - in the style that dad had wanted one (but hadn't been allowed due to chemo!), so my sister had put the design on T shirts for everyone.  And a few days after he died, me and my sister went to have matching swallow tattoos.  Because, one swallow doesn't make a summer, but there's more than one of us!  And it's been a wonderful year in all kinds of unexpected ways.

So...that's kind of the main update. It's been an intense time and there's been a lot of laughter and a lot of tears.  And we've kind of adopted as a curiously relevant 'anthem' of the year, the song I was learning on the harp - "Tonight You Belong to Me" (Patience & Prudence) - I'll put a YouTube link below.  Some of you may recognise it from American Horror Story!

"I know you belong to somebody new
But tonight, you belong to me
Although, we're apart
You're a part of my heart
And tonight, you belong to me
Way down by the stream
How sweet it will seem
Once more just to dream in the moonlight
My honey, I know with the dawn
That you will be gone
But tonight you belong to me"

Transformation Tips

https://youtu.be/YcJwdF51oTE

Fabulous  vlog from +BestTransformation x Totally agree too. There are people who sit about waiting for an excuse to take offence or launch a verbal assault on social media. I think it's a sign of popularity - these people only want to troll where there are other followers that will feed them! But a message to all the nay sayers and trolls hanging around on social media waiting for me (or Joe...or anyone else with an online presence and alternative views) to say something or do something they can jump on and make a noise about...stick about with the likes of Joe (and me) - STICK AROUND ALONG ENOUGH AND YOU MAY BECOME A RADICAL FREE THINKER!

NOTE: I don't have a youtube channel yet...I'm all over Facebook, Twitter,  Tumblr, Flickr, Blogger, WordPress, LinkedIn, Instagram and G+ - I have a number of websites and I work teaching distance courses internationally in a variety of energy healing modalities and I am very passionate about it! I have been doing this for 11 years and I am good at what I do! But every now and then someone will happen along to slag off my work, energy healing in general, anything 'new age' or 'alternative' - never with a thought out point of view - and I notice Joe gets some of the same deconstructive criticism sometimes. Well let's be honest...the nay sayers and trolls are not offering a critque, they have some kind of verbal incontinence and randomly spew abuse at others. I'd guess if they have time to spend trolling they haven't got much of a life really. They probably deserve some pity but...abusing others in any context (online or otherwise), is still abuse. If they are doing it for attention....it's far less effective than they think. We normal folk aren't provoked into an angry response - we are provoked into laughter sometimes - or to hitting the block button other times.

You can't reason with the unreasonable - so trolls and troublemakers, don't be surprised when no one bothers trying!
